When he was alive, pretty much any loud noise stressed him out. The Navy jet engines on Coronado, motorcycles, fireworks, sirens, gunshots, thunder—you name it.
He wasn’t allowed on the furniture, but one night I woke up to him crawling over me in bed. There was a thunderstorm, and he was terrified. I let stay with me, and we cuddled through the night. When the sun came up, he got down from the bed on his own.
My dog before him had terrible separation anxiety. It took about a year, and a whole lot of destruction, before we established a routine she was comfortable enough with that I could leave for work without her panicking. Even then, anything that disrupted her routine could stress her out.
Both were rescues, and both came with their own fears and anxieties. They just needed patience, consistency, and a little extra love.
Everything stresses Domino out. Especially wind. And it’s pretty much always windy here. Peanut is totally chill, nothing seems to freak her out. But both of them always want to be outside when there’s a thunderstorm, so they can run around and bark at the sky while getting soaked. Idiots.
Always thunder
I don’t have a dog.
No dog, no dog stress
Yup, no dog.
All of the above.
Amazon….

@Pony well if you had a Cat they would be smart enough NOT to go outside during storms.
That’s the reason Cats Rulz & Dogs drool.
@mycya4me Uh… yeah, I have five cats, thank you very much. The dogs are my husband’s, I pretty much have nothing to do with them.
When I leave…but not for work.
Well I did have a dog when I was kid 5-10. But NOW I am a cat person.
So I DON’T have a Dog, But I can tell you what stress out the cat…
but that is not the Question.
